The Spacey Spacer templates have been designed to give you an extra design tool that will enable you to offset your rows of quilt blocks 3″ inches with the 3-6-9 set or 2″ inches with the 2-4-6 set  by inserting the Spacer where every you want to offset your rows.  These are basically filler blocks that you can place at the end of the row or in the middle between your 9″ blocks.  The template piece will give you a finished piece in your quilt that will be 3″ x 9″ or 2″ x 6″ depending the size.  You can put three of these together to have an entirely new block if you choose to.  These special templates give you so many more design options.
