Spinning Pinwheels Workshop:  A workshop designed to teach all levels of quilters from beginners to advanced quilters.  The worshop teaches how to make The Spinning Pinwheel quilt using the fast, fun, foolproof  pinless method for curved piecing.  Class includes lots of embellishment tips and techniques to produce award winning quilts.   

The Spinning Pinwheels Workshop  can be structured as a one or two day event.  The 2 day event includes the following segments:  A one  hour trunk show, instruction on the pinless EZ curved piecing method, color theory for quilts,   an EQ5 quilting software demonstration,  embroidery for quilt embellishments, embellished borders with decorative stitch building,  embellishing with beads, & crystals, tip & tricks on free motion quilting, and binding ideas & techniques . 

       

 

 

  Winding Curves Workshop::  A workshop designed to teach all levels of quilters from beginners to advanced quilters.  The worshop teaches how to make The Winding Curves Quilt using a fast, fun, foolproof  pinless method for curved piecing.  Students will learn how to use the Sew Inspired        3-6-9 Winding Curves Design kit to make unlimited creative and innovative art quilt designs.  This workshop teaches the basic block construction, design elements, color theory,  fabric selection and lot of embellishment tips and techniques to produce award-winning quilts. This workshop can be structured as a one or two day workshop.  The 2nd day will include quilting and binding techniques.

 

 Spinning Fans Wall Hanging:  Learn how to make a Spinning Pinwheel wall hanging using the Sew Inspired 3-6-9 Spinning Fans Design Kit.  The pinless EZ curved piecing method will be taught in this workshop, making it a breeze to create quilts with curves.  Never again will you be afraid to conquer curve seams. We will explore the unlimited possibilities that can be created with the 3-D Spinning Fans Design kits, fabric selection, color theory, and tips on embellishing your quilts.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Reflexting Sunset - Big Block Quilt Class:    Learn how "Design Cuts" can create illusion in your quilts and how easy it its to create a very intricate quilt design with just a few simple blocks. Students will learn the techniques I used when making of the project quilt featured on the Blank Quilting  web-site for the Reflexions fabric line.  Using large scale print and one piece blocks, create this easy yet beautiful quilt.  Learn trapunto techniques and how to use the fabric to inpire your quilt design.  Other topics that will be covered in this class will include making metalic threads your best friend instead of your  worst enemy, and embellishing your quilt using hot fix crstals.

 

 

Reflexting Pond - Big Block Quilt:    In this class we will make the reflecting Pond quilt feature in a national quilt magazine.  We will explore "Design Cutting" your large scale fabrics to create  this amazing quilt design.  Learn some easy piecing technique that will make putting together this quilt top a breeze.  Sara will demonstrate how she give dimension to her quilts using trapunto tecniques when she quilts and discuss how she embellishes her quilts.

 

 

 

Spinning Pinwheel "Dogwood in a Vase"  This quilt is one of the unique designs made using the Spinning Pinwheel Design kit. Create a flower in a vase wallhanging, while learning new curved piecing techniques as well as how to combine applique with your pieced blocks to create this fun and whimsical wall hanging.

 

       

         

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Kalaidoscope Circular Quilts:  Learn new curved piecing techniques that enable you to conquer new avenues in quilting.  Learn how to create beautiful circular art quilts.  Techniques covered in this workshop include: designing your own circular kalaidoscope quilt, the Sew Inspired easy pinless curved piecing method, machine quilting tips & tricks,  embellishing with embroidery and crystals.  (2  Day Workshop)    

 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

Colors & Curves:  An easy strip piecing quilt lets you experiment and learn all about color value and how it impact the result of your quilts as well as sewing techniques for curved piecing. 

Imperfect Quilting for a Perfect Quilt:   This workshop is designed for the quilter who is looking to learn to get over their fears of free-motion quilting.    This is a fun class that will help beginning quilters or even the more experienced quilter explore new fun and whimsical quilting techniques.  Students can bring a small quilt top to work on or can build up their confidence on practice quilt sandwiches. 

 

Eye Catchers-Creating a Stand-out quilt using Embellishment:  In this workshop we will learn how to make your quilt stand out from the crowd!  We will explore embellishment techniques that you can use to create award-winning quilts.  Some techniques that we will cover are: Adding texture, beading, crystals, decorative stitching, machine embroidery are just a few of the embellishments we we learn.

Finishing Touches:  In this class Sara will teach how to complete your quilt using a beautiful piped binding as well as how to create a perfect quilt sandwich ready for quilting. Easy methods for attaching sleeves or other creative methods to hang your art quilts.
